- Choose 'Domicile / Mool Niwasi Certificate' — Select the service and fill in your personal and address details exactly as on your documents.
- Upload documents and pay the fee — Attach the scanned documents, pay the small fee online, and note down the application/acknowledgement number.
- Verification — The application is checked by the local revenue office (Tehsildar/SDM). Keep your phone handy for any query.
- Download the signed certificate — Once approved, download the digitally-signed certificate from the portal using your application number.
A domicile certificate (called mool niwasi praman patra locally) is your proof of being a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh. Students need it most often — for admissions, scholarships and state quotas — but it also comes up for state government jobs and various welfare schemes.
The fastest route is the official MP e-District portal. If you’re not comfortable with the online steps, any MP Online kiosk or CSC centre near you can do it for a small charge — carry the same documents listed above.
This guide is for general help only. Fees, timelines and the exact document list can change — always follow the instructions on the official portal for your case.
