Pachmarhi Sightseeing — Handi Khoh, Gupt & Bada Mahadev
Watch on YouTube Pachmarhi Road Trip · Part 2

We reached Pachmarhi and, without much of a plan, hired a local guide who mapped the afternoon on the spot. This episode is our first full day of sightseeing — a genuinely useful preview if you’re deciding what to fit into a day.

What we covered

Starting from Hotel Highland, we worked through:

  • Handi Khoh — a deep, dramatic gorge in the forest
  • Gupt Mahadev — a narrow cave shrine you enter single-file
  • Bada Mahadev — a larger cave temple to Shiva
  • Viewpoints — Green Valley, Priyadarshini and Rajendra Giri, each looking out over the Satpura valleys

The chapter markers above match the video, so you can jump straight to any spot.

Planning tip

A local guide is worth it in Pachmarhi — many points sit inside the Satpura Tiger Reserve buffer and the routes aren’t obvious. Wear proper shoes: several spots involve short climbs down and back up.
